Set standards and goals, create policies, define and refine processes, evaluate performance and implement new technologies to ensure the organization retains its status as one of the country’s leading library systems. Led the organization though PCI certification and serve as the PCI Compliance Officer.
    • Systems Integrations Services Manager - Public Library of Cincinnati 3/2012 – 11/2012

      Cincinnati Library LogoServed as the manager for the Integrated Library System (ILS) and oversaw the day-to-day work of six employees who supported the (ILS) software and all web-based initiatives. Co-chaired a migration team created to transition from SirsiDynix to Innovative Sierra. Worked with administrative team to solve high-level problems by doing in-depth analysis with the goal of finding the best possible solution consistent with organizational philosophies and goals. Developed and implemented policies, long-term and short-term goals. Maintained awareness of developments and emerging trends in both web development and ILS fields to ensure PLCH provided best-of-breed services to both internal and external customers.

      Cincinnati Library LogoServed as both the product developer and lead web developer for the company intranet site and all internal web applications. Created a custom content management system that met specific internal needs and allowed employees to maintain their own content, which resulted in both time and monetary savings. Developed the concept for and coded a time card application that allowed one retiring full-time employee to go unreplaced, saved material costs, reduced errors, and greatly decreased the time spent in the approval process. Created the strategic vision for the organization’s intranet site and developed many other projects in line with the primary goals of reducing costs and paper as well as increasing company communication and information flow.
    • Manager of Web Development - F+W Media07/2003 – 11/2008

      F+W MediaSupervised an internal team of five web developers and oversaw hiring and performance reviews. Served as project manager and lead developer for several large development projects involving communicating with stakeholders, planning and implementation, and managing internal and offshore resources. Directed numerous new site launches and oversaw day-to-day operations and performance of more than 100 public-facing web sites, some of which generate several million dollars in annual revenue. Managed corporate hosting environment and served as a backup administrator. Led a 75-site migration that resulted in significant improvements in page load time and server uptime. Spearheaded adoption of Google Adsense and Adwords, resulting in increased subscription sales and nearly $100,000 in Adsense revenue.
    • Webmaster and E-Commerce Web Developer - Tennessee Production Center03/2002 – 07/2003

      Tennessee Production CenterDirected all web operations for TPC and the several musical entertainment companies within the organization. Completely re-developed the company’s flagship site from the ground up, resulting in a 300% increase in monthly online sales. As part of the web site overhaul, converted legacy database system to SQL server, implemented security (SSL) to protect credit card transactions, applied on-line shipping calculation system, and implemented advanced support features such as live chat. In addition, implemented an extranet site that allowed customers to log in and get support, edit profiles, check order history/status, etc. Built web application that enabled trade customers to electronically submit applications for licensing rights. Created and maintained special event site that includes automatic changeover of time-sensitive data.
    • Principal Web Instructor - New Horizons Computer Learning Center 03/2001 – 03/2002

      New Horizons Computer Learning CenterServed as the lead instructor for all web-related courses and trained instructors from several New Horizons Training Centers. Logged more than 2,000 classroom hours covering subjects such as web design, web development, and web fundamentals and theory. Developed supplemental courseware to enhance the classroom learning experience. Maintained an instructor rating of 9.32 out of 10 (rated by more than 1,800 students).

Served as purchasing agent for all computer equipment. Created and documented classroom image cloning and storage system using Norton’s Ghost 6.0.

      EDS LogoAuthored technical support bulletins published on the Toshiba web site outlining solutions to technical problems resolved through my testing. Developed a large web-based data source using HTML, XML, JavaScript, DHTML, and Flash, which was accepted as corporate standard and used nationwide.
